“Say something….”
Not too much to say about this mix, but a
couple of points.
Firstly, the narrative should be easy to spot
and needs no further explanation except to say that the “untitled” title is
meant to be as neutral and nondescriptive as possible and in place of something
corny, faux poetic or really obvious. The subtitle is a more specific reference
to the conclusion, the epilogue or post-script.
It took maybe 6 months of compiling the short
list, which ended up at close to 200 tracks, and then about one month of on and
off preparation with two tricky bits in particular. As usual there is a lot of
micro editing and some rearrangement of some tracks. The track listing has a
couple of duplications which reflects this to some degree where one part of a
track might be used in complete independence of a second occurrence, but the
list does not contemplate tracks that come and go in short succession. In
particular, Eliane Radigue’s Adnos I comes and goes several times throughout
the mix and is meant to be seen as the life force as it were.
By the way, Yves Tumor is some kind of genius
and makes incredible music.
